ENROLL NOW FOR
THE 2009-2010 SEASON!
Fall classes start the week of August
24! If you haven't enrolled yet, now's the time to sign up. Here are
three easy ways to register.
- Call our main office (277-8333) Monday through Friday, daytime.
- E-mail us at info@bettyhilldance.com stating your dancer's name, school grade, and classes desired. We'll call or e-mail you back with your class options.
- Fill out an information request on our "CONTACT US" page, and we'll get back to you with the info you need.
SIZZLIN' SUMMER FUN!
Many of our dancers spent part of their summer vacation having fun at DANCE CAMP, one of our most popular programs.
This summer we offered six one-week sessions for students from pre-school through high school.
Many of our DANCE campers
will perform at the Iowa State Fair on
Sunday, August 16. Our "Dance Magic Kids" will entertain at the Lakeside Bud (formerly
Miller) Stage at 2:30, and our older students, "The Betty Hill Dancers," perform at
the Bill Riley Stage at 11:00. Performing at the State Fair has become an
annual tradition and is a great way for our dance families to end the
summer.
We'll also be performing at Merle Hay Mall on Sunday, August 9 at 1:30 p.m. and
at Valley West Mall on Saturday, August 15 at 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. We'd
love to have you come to see us at any--or all--of our summer shows. It's
great family entertainment!
DANCE,
DANCE, DANCE!
The most important "stars" to grace our stage are our very own students, from
"little ones" taking their first steps on stage to our seasoned veterans as they
confidently display the beauty of their strength and the power of their grace.
This year was especially thrilling, however, because we hosted several
rehearsals for "Dancing With the Stars" champion Shawn Johnson and her partner
Mark Ballas as they waltzed, jived, and sparkled their way to the top of the
leader board. We also hosted Julianne Hough and Chuck Wicks, a country
couple who can sing as well as dance! If you watched closely, you saw our
students' pink stars in the background of rehearsal footage for several of the
DWTS episodes. What a treat!
DANCE MAGIC!
Dance Magic 2009 was another hit, celebrating the creativity and imagination
with which we embrace each "Brand New Day."
We celebrated the 54th anniversary of the Betty Hill Dance Studios! Our planning
for our 55th anniversary (next June 11th and 12th) started
even before Dance Magic 2009 ended, and we have many exciting dances in the
works already. As we move forward to our sixth decade of Dance Magic in
Des Moines, we thank all of our dancers, families, and fans for their loyalty
and support. You're the best!
