Enroll Now For the 2010-2011 Season!
Fall classes started Monday, August 30! If you haven't enrolled yet, now's the time to sign up. Here are three easy ways to register.
1. Call our main office (277-8333) Monday through Friday, daytime.
2. E-mail us at info@bettyhilldance.com stating your dancer's name, school grade, and classes desired.
We'll call or e-mail you back with your class options.
3. Fill out an information request on our "Contact Us" page, and we'll get back to you with the info you need.
Meet Your Teacher Week: August 23-26
The first week of our season was "Meet the Teacher Week" at all three of our studio locations. We had a great turnout, with dancers of all ages stopping in to meet (or reconnect with) their teachers. Our Dance Magic families had a chance to finish their paperwork, add classes, check out the classrooms, register for door prizes, see friends, watch Dance Magic 2010, and view our Iowa State Fair performances.

Did You See Us Dance At The Iowa State Fair?
Many of our Dance Campers performed at the Iowa State Fair on Sunday, August 15. Our older students, "The Betty Hill Dancers," performed at the Bill Riley Stage at 11:00, and our younger students, the "Dance Magic Kids," entertained at the Anderson Erickson Stage at 1:00. Performing at the State Fair has become an annual tradition and is a great way for our dance families to end the summer.
Bop While You Shop at Merle Hay and Valley West Malls!
We've also performed at area malls this summer. On Saturday, July 31 we performed at Merle Hay Mall, with our Kids Show at 11:00 a.m. and our Junior-Senior Show at 12:30 p.m. Our Valley West Mall Shows were Sunday, August 8, with our Kids at 12:00 noon and our Junior Seniors at 1:30 p.m. We love performing for our families and friends during the summer, and hope you were able to see us!. It's great family entertainment!
Sizzlin' Summer Fun!
Many of our dancers spent part of their summer vacation having fun at DANCE CAMP, one of our most popular programs. This summer we offered five one-week sessions for students from pre-school through high school. Beginner, Primary, Intermediate, Junior, and Senior Dance Camp were fun, positive, and productive, with our dancers learning new dances, making new friends, and performing!
Dance Magic 2010!
Dance Magic 2010 was another hit, celebrating the growth and confidence of our dancers as they performed the creative visions we're known for. We celebrated the 55th anniversary of the Betty Hill Dance Studios--and our 31st year at the Civic Center! Planning for our 56th anniversary (next June 10th and 11th) started even before Dance Magic 2010 ended, and we have many exciting dances in the works already. As we move forward through our sixth decade of Dance Magic in Des Moines, we thank all of our dancers, families, and fans for their loyalty and support. You're the best!
A Great Year of Dance, Dance, Dance!
The most important "stars" to grace our stage are our very own students, from "little ones" taking their first steps on stage to our seasoned veterans as they confidently display the beauty of their strength and the power of their grace. This year was another great year, kicked off with Debbie choreographing the dances for Des Moines local celebrities at "Dancing With the Stars--Des Moines Style." This spring our young competition group won first place, overall high points, and the showmanship award at the regional Spotlight Cup dance competition. Way to go team!
